Master Rehab Instructor

Over the past 10 years I’ve been working in the rehabilitation and yoga community and gradually bringing the two worlds together. Combining anatomy, physiology, physiotherapy, and various yoga education, my goal is to help individuals find mobility, strength, and relaxation through a more intuitive form of body movement and exercise. My teaching style begins with the breath and works outward, finding ways to promote strength and healing in the body and mind.

My certifications include E-RYT, Hatha, Restorative, Pain Care Yoga, Physiotherapy Assistant, as well as other courses and self-learning with the community in mind. I’ve worked with individuals with chronic pain, acute injury, low back dysfunction, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, scoliosis, cerebral palsy, and other chronic conditions. I believe we all have the ability to cultivate change for the better through breath awareness, body movement, and stillness of the mind. As a student, there is so much more to learn. As a teacher, being able to share that with each other is such a gift. I hope to help this growing community inclusively while serving everyone.

Chris Berglund

Master Strength Instructor

I have been involved in fitness for over 20+ years. My passion and talent for training extends well beyond general fitness to both the coaching and training of elite athletes. My experience with athletes allowed me to create my own style of training programs where clients get to experience, “Training like an Athlete.” This involves using sport movements as inspiration to build unique and challenging programs.

I have been a student of fitness from the start of my career. With a degree in Human Kinetics from UBC, I have used this education as the foundation of training. I am constantly upgrading my scope of practice, certifications, and education. My certifications include:

Hillary Mastrodicasa

Master Yoga Instructor

I started practicing yoga in 2013 while living in Peru in a communal home as an art therapist. Here, I was exposed to an entirely new world and way of being and felt very connected. Practicing yoga forced me to abandon my ego and start practicing radical acceptance of my body, mind and the world around me. These experiences of connection and community are what power and inspire my teaching. My classes seek to connect: body and mind as well as student and teacher and acknowledge and build relationships in these spaces.

My teaching style stresses being authentic and true to where your body is at in that moment and using your strength to feel empowered. Naomi Joy

Master Pilates Instructor

My name is Naomi and I love my job! Movement is my passion and inspiring others to do the same is what I do best.  With extensive training in pilates, yoga, dance and fitness, I have been teaching at various studios throughout Vancouver for the past eight years. Creating community, connecting with students and promoting healthy body image are my favourite parts of teaching. 

I am stoked to lead a creative and challenging core based class where we mindfully work our whole body while maintaining proper form.  Although I quite enjoy challenging my students, most importantly I want you to listen to your body and do what feel right. You’re the boss!  I am also a founding member of the Luciterra Dance Cooperative, in which I co-run a dance school and performance company.

Kristen Adams

Master Trampoline Instructor

I am certified as a fitness instructor by the National Fitness Leadership Alliance (NFLA), and have been teaching a variety of fitness classes since 2008. I’m originally from Saskatoon, SK where I was involved in everything from dance, martial arts, sports, gymnastics and music as I was growing up.

I first started teaching fitness classes that were based around using the ballet barre, as I was drawn to the style and elegance of the program. This completely fired my passion for teaching group fitness! It wasn’t long before I got involved in teaching a wider range of classes including cardio, calisthenics, weight training, and pilates-style mat classes. I love the freedom to add variety and be spontaneous when teaching freestyle classes, and am always ready to take on a new challenge – like the mini trampoline!

I love to create varied, playful, yet challenging classes because fitness should always be exciting, and never be boring. I’m thrilled to be involved in the programs offered here at SeaCity, and I look forward to seeing you in class!!

Jaeson Lee

Master Boxing Instructor

I’ve been teaching martial arts and athletic conditioning for the past 15 years. I started learning traditional Korean martial arts in my fathers Taekwondo school at age seven. I achieved my 4th degree black belt at 25, while also participating in other sports such as snowboarding, track and field, gymnastics, and boxing. I’m a Can-Fit-Pro certified personal trainer and a Level 1 Strength Coach through the Poliquin Performance Institute. Over the last decade I’ve had the opportunity to train with, and learn from professional boxers, MMA athletes, and self-defense specialists to become a more well-rounded artist, and to study various curricula and conditioning methods.

I’m very proud to be the head instructor of the boxing class at Seacity Fitness. Through years of experience working with a diversity of individuals, large groups, beginners and seasoned athletes, I’ve developed a comprehensive and challenging boxing program that will improve coordination, muscle  tone, strength, endurance, and metabolic conditioning along with a solid foundation of technical skill development.
